WINGUARD is proudly the official PPF vendor of several aviation companies including the Royal Flying Doctor Service fleet, PREMIAIR Aviation and Pilatus. Just like cars, the aircraft we work on are susceptible to damage on ‘leading edges’ and other panels where debris tends to impact on paintwork.
The PPF we use is the latest and most durable multi-layered thermoplastic polyurethane film structure on the market and it’s manufactured by XPEL. Every layer of the PPF is state-of-the-art, including the clear top layer which has a self-healing capability, to the film’s adhesive which is designed to contour the PPF seamlessly onto panel surfaces.

Common areas in need of coverage:
- Wing Roots
- Underbelly
- Wing Flaps
- Canoe’s
- Wing Tips
- Dorsal Kits
Replacing film is obviously much cheaper than re-sprays and panel replacements. It’s a whole new level of erosion protection. PPF has been officially authorised as a ‘safe non-structural addition on type certified aircraft, making this protective application acceptable from an engineering standpoint’. Problem solved.
